A Smartwatch Step-Counting App for Older Adults: Development and Evaluation Study
A few smartwatch-based step-counting algorithms have been developed using data from young adults and validated in controlled settings only [13,14]. Matthies et al [15] developed a smartwatch step-counting app for older adults who use a walking frame equipped with wheels, which was evaluated outdoors, but only in a controlled setting, with 5 older adults.

Workshop on Implementation Science and Digital Therapeutics for Behavioral Health
The research-to-practice gap is a significant challenge to the health care field, and translation of evidence-based practices for substance use and mental health conditions is no exception [1-3]. Recent data indicate only 11% of people in the United States with a substance use condition received treatment, and fewer than half (43%) of adults with a mental health condition received treatment [4].

For patients with sarcopenia, connecting a resistance band to an app provides a platform for them to understand their progress through each exercise as they proceed through the regimen. With a suitable dashboard, the app allows clinicians to monitor not only compliance for each patient but also their entire patient population.
