The DIAMANTE (Diabetes and Mental Health Adaptive Notification Tracking and Evaluation) was a prospective, IRB-approved, RCT evaluating the effectiveness of a machine-learning-guided smartphone intervention on physical activity. In brief, the intervention sent SMS text messages to participants during a 6-month period to encourage physical activity to support both mental and physical health [19].
