Acoustic and Natural Language Markers for Bipolar Disorder: A Pilot, mHealth Cross-Sectional Study

Acoustic and Natural Language Markers for Bipolar Disorder: A Pilot, mHealth Cross-Sectional Study

The short-term instability of the vibration of the vocal cords during phonation (ie, jitter-related indices) was also extracted (Table S1 in Multimedia Appendix 2). Higher jitter values indicated speech patterns likely characterized by irregularities or hesitations, thus mirroring potential underlying psychological distress or emotional instability.

Use of Deep Neural Networks to Predict Obesity With Short Audio Recordings: Development and Usability Study

Use of Deep Neural Networks to Predict Obesity With Short Audio Recordings: Development and Usability Study

Several mechanisms are postulated to explain these alterations in vocal attributes. The deposition of adipose tissue near the vocal folds and larynx may influence vocal resonance and pitch, often resulting in variations in voice quality [7]. Restrictive lung patterns associated with obesity may lead to compromised lung volumes and capacities, subsequently impacting subglottal pressures essential for phonation [8].

Investigation of Deepfake Voice Detection Using Speech Pause Patterns: Algorithm Development and Validation

Investigation of Deepfake Voice Detection Using Speech Pause Patterns: Algorithm Development and Validation

Deepfake constitutes a synthetic reproduction of media content, both auditory and visual, carefully crafted to closely represent the physical attributes and vocal characteristics of a specific individual. Its use spans many domains, notably in entertainment, where it can be used for the digital replication of actors for special effects or the creation of intricately detailed characters in video games [2].

An Online Dual-Task Cognitive and Motor Exercise Program for Individuals With Parkinson Disease (PD3 Move Program): Acceptability Study

An Online Dual-Task Cognitive and Motor Exercise Program for Individuals With Parkinson Disease (PD3 Move Program): Acceptability Study

The program consisted of combining cognitive exercises projected on a dynamic Zoom background, with participants responding with physical and vocal exercises. The use of different types of Zoom backgrounds to support the cognitive challenge, as well as the use of voice to respond, was expected to be associated with higher levels of engagement, learning benefits, and exercise adherence.
