Prior research has explored monitoring nighttime movement and identifying sleep-related disorders or sleep stages via the use of unobtrusive sensor systems equipped with accelerometer or pressure sensors, connected to beds [15-18]. However, only a limited number of researchers have directed the focus of nighttime movement monitoring with accelerometer sensors connected to the bed toward the exploration of detecting nighttime movement to support NH continence care.

Implementation of Unobtrusive Sensing Systems for Older Adult Care: Scoping Review
Most importantly, they are unobtrusive, such that the user does not have to wear the device (device-free sensing) for continuous monitoring and can operate in a non-LOS (NLOS) region, thus making them more suitable for older adult care [4].
With the advancement in technology, the meaning of unobtrusive has evolved. Initially, wearables were labeled unobtrusive as they are noninvasive to the human body [14].

A careful choice for unobtrusive coaching techniques was made to ultimately bridge the gap between the perceived need and actual need of teachers for coaching. The technique of unobtrusive coaching is required to create awareness and accomplish behavioral change, despite the teacher’s resistance to coaching and ultimately optimize the role of the teacher in providing high-quality SRH lessons.
