The webtoon series features the stories of 7 women, 6 of whom have high-risk factors for premature birth, spanning from prepregnancy to pregnancy phases, with each story culminating in 3-4 different endings. Participants in the experimental group begin by creating personal accounts and completing questionnaires to identify high-risk factors for premature birth (Textbox 2).

The confidential nature of material produced during the workshop (eg, story scripts, digital images, transcripts from group discussions) was emphasized to participants: they had the option to remain anonymous within their stories by omitting names and dates and having images blurred. Participants were informed about our future aim to disseminate the digital stories for research purposes.

This third occupation consisted of listening to brief stories dealing with relevant daily topics (eg, sport, geography, music, and food) and answering questions related to those stories.
The participants are here identified through the pseudonyms of Aubrey, Joseph, Collins, and Dylan. Aubrey and Joseph were the participants who used the first program while Collins and Dylan were the participants who used the second program.

This pilot study investigates whether patient testimonials can be integrated into the normal hospital workflow, and whether patients are comfortable enough with the technology to share their stories.
The study was conducted at the outpatient clinic of the Center for Advanced IBD Research and Treatment at Kitasato University Kitasato Institute Hospital. Randomly selected patients with a confirmed diagnosis of CD or UC were included in the study if they were older than 20 years.

Parallel stimuli included 36 stories: 18 short stories (119 words per story, SD 4.83) and 18 long stories (224 words per story, SD 14.86). Task characteristics are presented in Table S1 in Multimedia Appendix 1, showing that stories incorporate a range of themes and are balanced for key linguistic and discourse metrics. During clinical assessments, 3 long ASRT stories were administered consecutively.

Unlike the traditional approaches serving the literature structure, the TST provides clear guidelines in creating and structuring empowering digital stories. This technique relies on the narrative approach to therapy and storytelling principles in the narrative, allowing the implementation of narrative therapy principles (eg, narration, storytelling; nonlinear, linear, or chronological narrative formation) to larger groups or members of a target population simultaneously through audio or video stories.
