Short-Form Psychoeducation Videos: Process Development Study

In this paper, we worked with NHS Talking Therapies professionals to gather their understanding about why people drop out before or during therapy and with a creative team to develop a psychoeducation intervention to address these concerns. This study aimed to develop a series of video resources to reduce nonadherence by providing accurate and trustworthy information about NHS Talking Therapy in an engaging manner.

Evaluation and Uptake of an Online ADHD Psychoeducation Training for Primary Care Health Care Professionals: Implementation Study

The online training included interactive psychoeducation elements reinforced with activities and videos lasting a total of 45 minutes. The content included enough information for GPs to identify ADHD and better understand the condition. The resulting intervention was then evaluated through a randomized controlled trial (RCT) [10] in GP practices based in England where 221 GPs took part.

Video- Versus Text-Based Psychoeducation in Web-Based E-Mental Health Programs: Randomized Controlled Trial

Many self-guided e-mental health programs are based on psychoeducation, which involves providing structured information about a patient’s disorder and treatment options. The term psychoeducation was first used by Anderson and colleagues [6] in a manual on schizophrenia that aimed to empower patients and their families by enhancing their understanding of the illness and improving their coping strategies [7].

Internet-Delivered Psychoeducation (SCOPE) for Transition-Aged Autistic Youth: Pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trial

Internet-Delivered Psychoeducation (SCOPE) for Transition-Aged Autistic Youth: Pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trial

Psychoeducation is a well-established, evidence-based intervention for many psychiatric disorders, typically used to increase knowledge about their health condition, self-knowledge, and strategies in everyday life and to improve quality of life (Qo L) [9,10]. Furthermore, psychoeducation aims to empower patients and actively engage them in their treatments as well as further service usage [10-12]. Indeed, psychoeducation is the recommended first-line intervention after a confirmed autism diagnosis [13-15].
