Concordance Between Survey and Electronic Health Record Data in the COVID-19 Citizen Science Study: Retrospective Cohort Analysis

Concordance Between Survey and Electronic Health Record Data in the COVID-19 Citizen Science Study: Retrospective Cohort Analysis

Our study evaluated concordance between two data sources: (1) participant-reported data from a web-based patient portal for the CCS study and (2) participants’ corresponding EHRs, conforming to a common data model. Data from the participant-reported data source were converted first to a CSV format and then imported into SAS 9.4 software (SAS Institute) as datasets.

Bridging Data Models in Health Care With a Novel Intermediate Query Format for Feasibility Queries: Mixed Methods Study

Bridging Data Models in Health Care With a Novel Intermediate Query Format for Feasibility Queries: Mixed Methods Study

Within the broader context of establishing a feasibility platform as part of the central German Portal for Health Data (FDPG), this research introduces a novel query syntax, serving as an intermediary between user interfaces and data repositories. This syntax is designed to be sufficiently flexible to ensure interoperability while maintaining simplicity.

Leveraging an Electronic Health Record Patient Portal to Help Patients Formulate Their Health Care Goals: Mixed Methods Evaluation of Pilot Interventions

Leveraging an Electronic Health Record Patient Portal to Help Patients Formulate Their Health Care Goals: Mixed Methods Evaluation of Pilot Interventions

Eligible patients were those aged 65 years and older, who were registered on the My Lahey Chart patient portal. Among patients aged 65 years or older in the 2 practices, approximately 72% and 55% were on the portal. The study was certified as exempt by the institutional review boards of Lahey Medical Center (Protocol #20213123) and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Protocol #2021 P000327).

The Accuracy of Pulse Oxygen Saturation, Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, and Respiratory Rate Raised by a Contactless Telehealth Portal: Validation Study

The Accuracy of Pulse Oxygen Saturation, Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, and Respiratory Rate Raised by a Contactless Telehealth Portal: Validation Study

The average absolute difference between the Docsun Telehealth Portal and the reference values was 1.41 (SD 1.14) bpm. The mean absolute percentage difference was 1.69% (SD 1.37). The Docsun Telehealth Portal, therefore, met the predefined accuracy cutoff for HR measurements.

Guiding Principles for Adolescent Web-Based Portal Access Policies: Interviews With Informatics Administrators

Guiding Principles for Adolescent Web-Based Portal Access Policies: Interviews With Informatics Administrators

We previously found that pediatric institutions have used widely varying policies for adolescent portal access across the United States [16]. Although most studies of adolescent portal use have been performed in the United States [17], other countries are similarly providing portal access to adolescents and their parents [18,19]. Variations in portal policy are driven, in part, by adolescent confidentiality laws that vary by state [20].

Feasibility of a Digital Patient–Provider Communication Intervention to Support Shared Decision-Making in Chronic Health Care, InvolveMe: Pilot Study

Feasibility of a Digital Patient–Provider Communication Intervention to Support Shared Decision-Making in Chronic Health Care, InvolveMe: Pilot Study

Furthermore, portal use was found to encourage engagement in self-management of chronic disease [14,16] and empower patients in SDM [14]. However, the review rated the evidence related to portal use for improved communication, information sharing, and patient-provider relationships as low [14]. Secure messaging was identified as the most commonly reported portal feature, with patient-generated data by remote patient-reported symptoms (ie, assessments tools) less frequently reported [14].
