Media Framing and Portrayals of Ransomware Impacts on Informatics, Employees, and Patients: Systematic Media Literature Review

Our research method incorporated an inductive and deductive approach for our content analysis of news articles, first by deductively analyzing the media frames related to ransomware attacks on health care providers to understand how these events were portrayed for the public and inductively analyzing the media portrayals of the impacts on the health informatics systems, patients, and employees to understand how the impacts of these events are portrayed to the public.

These mental health conditions detrimentally impact individuals' quality of life and well-being, leading to increased instances of sick leave [5].
