An App-Based Remote Patient Monitoring System With Wrist and In-Ear Wearables in Gastrointestinal Oncology: Prospective Feasibility Pilot Study

An App-Based Remote Patient Monitoring System With Wrist and In-Ear Wearables in Gastrointestinal Oncology: Prospective Feasibility Pilot Study

This pilot study aimed to test bw Health App for feasibility in patients with late-stage cancer. Feasibility in this context focuses on acceptability, adherence, use rates, and satisfaction. Moreover, the study aimed to analyze the differences in use and satisfaction between a wrist wearable and an in-ear wearable.

Thematic Analysis of Smoking Cessation and Future Cessation Interventions for Cancer Survivors: Convenience Sampling Study

Thematic Analysis of Smoking Cessation and Future Cessation Interventions for Cancer Survivors: Convenience Sampling Study

The health consequences of smoking are exacerbated after a cancer diagnosis, as cancer survivors (defined as any living person who has received a cancer diagnosis) who smoke are at increased risk of morbidity and mortality, while those who quit have improved treatment outcomes and survival [2-8]. However, an estimated 11.4% of survivors continue to smoke after diagnosis despite the health risks and impact to their cancer treatment outcomes [9].

A Sexual Health Self-Management Intervention (Psychosexual Educational Partners Program) for Couples With a History of Breast and Gynecological Cancer: Mixed Methods Feasibility Study

A Sexual Health Self-Management Intervention (Psychosexual Educational Partners Program) for Couples With a History of Breast and Gynecological Cancer: Mixed Methods Feasibility Study

In addition, partners of cancer survivors often experience distress related to cancer-related sexual problems, as well as negative effects on their own sexual functioning [4-6]. It has long been recognized that the quality of a partnered relationship is a significant predictor of a woman’s sexual health after breast cancer [2,7].

A Machine Learning–Based Scoring System to Identify High Immunoactivity Microsatellite Stability Tumors by Quantifying Similarity to Microsatellite Instability-High Tumors in Colorectal Cancers: Development and Quantitative Study

A Machine Learning–Based Scoring System to Identify High Immunoactivity Microsatellite Stability Tumors by Quantifying Similarity to Microsatellite Instability-High Tumors in Colorectal Cancers: Development and Quantitative Study

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide [1]. Microsatellite status divides CRCs into two subtypes: (1) deficient mismatch repair or microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) tumors and (2) proficient mismatch repair or microsatellite stability (MSS) and microsatellite instability-low tumors [2]. These 2 subtypes are distinct in terms of clinicopathological factors, gene mutations, and the immune microenvironment [2,3].

Conversational Artificial Intelligence for Integrating Social Determinants, Genomics, and Clinical Data in Precision Medicine: Development and Implementation Study of the AI-HOPE-PM System

Conversational Artificial Intelligence for Integrating Social Determinants, Genomics, and Clinical Data in Precision Medicine: Development and Implementation Study of the AI-HOPE-PM System

The complexity of cancer research workflows demands seamless integration of molecular profiles, clinical metadata, and population-level variables such as race, ethnicity, income, health literacy, and access to care.

The Provision of Social Support in an Online Support Forum for Caregivers of People With Comorbid Dementia and Cancer: Content Analysis Study

The Provision of Social Support in an Online Support Forum for Caregivers of People With Comorbid Dementia and Cancer: Content Analysis Study

Prevalence of both cancer and dementia increases with age [1,2], and owing to the aging population and rise in multimorbidity, a growing number of people are now living with comorbid dementia and cancer (CDC) [3-5]. A recent analysis of UK primary care data found that 1 in 13 people aged ≥75 years with cancer also have dementia [3], though this is likely to be an underestimation due to dementia underdiagnosis [6].

Exploring Barriers and Facilitators to Engagement of an Online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Intervention for Cancer Survivors With Chronic Painful Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy: Qualitative Interview Study

Exploring Barriers and Facilitators to Engagement of an Online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Intervention for Cancer Survivors With Chronic Painful Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy: Qualitative Interview Study

The use of online interventions for patients with cancer is growing due to their benefits in costs, accessibility, availability, traveling, stigma, and psychological burden [1,2]. Previous studies into online interventions have often demonstrated positive patient outcomes [3,4], including patient groups with long-term consequences of cancer and treatment, such as patients with cancer undergoing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) [1].

Cancer Care Experiences Among Adolescents, Caregivers, and Health Care Providers in a Regional Canadian Context: Protocol for a Qualitative Study

Cancer Care Experiences Among Adolescents, Caregivers, and Health Care Providers in a Regional Canadian Context: Protocol for a Qualitative Study

A cancer diagnosis can delay their ability to complete education, secure employment, and form new relationships, setting them back in their developmental trajectory [1,7]. Research also indicated that adult survivors of childhood cancer face long-term physical and mental health complications [1,8,9].

Effects of a Multidisciplinary Intervention on Fatigue in Lymphoma Survivors With Chronic Fatigue: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial (REFUEL)

Effects of a Multidisciplinary Intervention on Fatigue in Lymphoma Survivors With Chronic Fatigue: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial (REFUEL)

Cancer-related fatigue, defined as “a subjective sense of physical, emotional, and/or cognitive tiredness or exhaustion related to cancer or cancer treatment that is not proportional to recent activity and interferes with usual functioning,” is one of the most common and disabling symptoms occurring during and after cancer treatment [1,2]. If the symptom persists for 6 months or more, it is defined as chronic fatigue (CF) [3].
