Experiences With an In-Bed Real-Time Motion Monitoring System on a Geriatric Ward: Mixed Methods Study

Experiences With an In-Bed Real-Time Motion Monitoring System on a Geriatric Ward: Mixed Methods Study

What kind of ethical implications could arise from the nursing perspective, such as perceptions of autonomy and privacy for patients? How do nurses acquire knowledge about the technology, and how does this learning process influence their assessment of it? Reporting was guided by the Good Reporting of a Mixed Method Study (GRAMMS) criteria proposed by O’Cathain et al [18].

AI Interventions to Alleviate Healthcare Shortages and Enhance Work Conditions in Critical Care: Qualitative Analysis

AI Interventions to Alleviate Healthcare Shortages and Enhance Work Conditions in Critical Care: Qualitative Analysis

If AI were to drastically increase the levels of AI-based standardization and regulation (eg, to enable robust AI performance), work processes would become more rigid, people’s decision-making autonomy would be undermined and the equilibrium between standardization and flexible action by human operators could eventually tip out of balance. In addition, people’s sense of autonomy in decision-making is essential for intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction.

Reflections From the Pandemic: Is Connectivism the Panacea for Clinicians?

Reflections From the Pandemic: Is Connectivism the Panacea for Clinicians?

The 4 foundational aspects of successful networks in connectivism are autonomy, connectedness, diversity, and openness [33]. Second, autonomy allows learners to choose their learning communities through self-directed learning in massive online open courses. Individuals have the freedom to express their ideas and explore the knowledge network to identify experts and acquire knowledge based on their level of motivation and not be restricted by a hierarchical approach to learning.

Patient Perspectives on AI for Mental Health Care: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Patient Perspectives on AI for Mental Health Care: Cross-Sectional Survey Study

Future work should explore how we may respect individual autonomy with regard to the use of AI applications so that patients and health professionals may collaboratively make decisions about the appropriate application of AI to mental health care issues. Our study was limited in that the sample was recruited using a web-based platform, which may not generalize to those with technology, literacy, and other barriers to web-based survey completion.

The Artificial Third: A Broad View of the Effects of Introducing Generative Artificial Intelligence on Psychotherapy

These three questions are meticulously designed to advance the principles of transparency and autonomy, which are essential for fostering critical thinking, especially in the context of interacting with AI systems [44,45]. Critical thinking is one of the most important capacities for promoting human freedom and agency [46,47].

AI-Enabled Medical Education: Threads of Change, Promising Futures, and Risky Realities Across Four Potential Future Worlds

AI-Enabled Medical Education: Threads of Change, Promising Futures, and Risky Realities Across Four Potential Future Worlds

However, AI complicates health care decisions, potentially clashing with individual autonomy, as evident in AI-enforced quarantines. Implementing these strategies demands resources and coordination, posing ethical dilemmas in aligning global health with AI initiatives. Physicians: Ecological literacy equips physicians to discuss environmental health and advocate for justice and policy reform, focusing on preventive and emergency care and guiding population health interventions.
