The AI Reviewer: Evaluating AI’s Role in Citation Screening for Streamlined Systematic Reviews

The AI Reviewer: Evaluating AI’s Role in Citation Screening for Streamlined Systematic Reviews

This progress can eventually lead to a fully automated review process, where AI might oversee the search strategy, title and abstract screening, full-text review, data analysis and synthesis, and even drafting and publication. Such automation would epitomize a living systematic review, ensuring evidence is continuously updated as soon as new research is published.

Applying Critical Discourse Analysis to Cross-Cultural Mental Health Recovery Research

Applying Critical Discourse Analysis to Cross-Cultural Mental Health Recovery Research

Critical discourse analysis (CDA) is a qualitative analytical approach that critically appraises how language contributes to the production and reproduction of social inequalities through the examination of authentic uses of language [1,2]. CDA considers that linguistic expressions reflect the speakers’ and writers’ conscious or unconscious perceptions or opinions towards phenomena [1,2].

Leveraging Large Language Models and Agent-Based Systems for Scientific Data Analysis: Validation Study

Leveraging Large Language Models and Agent-Based Systems for Scientific Data Analysis: Validation Study

We introduce the Laureate Institute for Brain Research–Tulsa University (LIBR-TU) Research Agent (LITURAt), a research assistant that provides easy access to and efficient analysis of data sets through a user-friendly interface. Leveraging LLMs, LITURAt enables users of any scientific background to explore hidden relationships within data sets.

Sample Size Requirements for Popular Classification Algorithms in Tabular Clinical Data: Empirical Study

Sample Size Requirements for Popular Classification Algorithms in Tabular Clinical Data: Empirical Study

The contributions of this study include a learning curve analysis of 16 real-world datasets, an examination of modern gradient-boosting methods (XGB) within this analysis, and concrete sample size guidelines based on dataset-level characteristics. We have collected 16 public-access clinical datasets ranging from sample sizes of 70,000-1,000,000. A detailed description of dataset sources, variables included, and outcomes can be found in Multimedia Appendix 1.

Associations Between Successful Home Discharge and Posthospitalization Care Planning: Cross-Sectional Ecological Study

Associations Between Successful Home Discharge and Posthospitalization Care Planning: Cross-Sectional Ecological Study

Our data analysis of nationwide health claims suggested that early care coordination might facilitate discharge from hospital to home. However, regional disparities in accessibility were found. Our findings underline the importance of addressing regional disparities in health care resources to promote equitable outcomes. Further research drawing on detailed data is needed to clarify the mechanism of causality.

The Challenges and Lessons Learned Building a New UK Infrastructure for Finding and Accessing Population-Wide COVID-19 Data for Research and Public Health Analysis: The CO-CONNECT Project

The Challenges and Lessons Learned Building a New UK Infrastructure for Finding and Accessing Population-Wide COVID-19 Data for Research and Public Health Analysis: The CO-CONNECT Project

The COVID-19-Curated and Open Analysis and Research Platform (CO-CONNECT) project was launched in November 2020, with funding from the Department of Health and Social Care UK Research and Innovation COVID-19 Rapid Response Initiative. At the time, new data were being generated by newly funded research projects and by the National Health Service (NHS) response to COVID-19, such as laboratory data from testing centers, in addition to routinely collected health data [10].

Meal Timing and Depression Among Chinese Children and Adolescents: Cross-Sectional Study

Meal Timing and Depression Among Chinese Children and Adolescents: Cross-Sectional Study

After excluding 621 demographic missing data (mostly from parental answers) and 49 outliers, a total of 6874 individuals were included in this analysis (Figure 1). Flow diagram of selecting the study sample from 10 participating schools in China. Depression was measured by the Children’s Depression Inventory-Short Form [27]. The questionnaire is widely used and showed high internal consistency (Cronbach α=.75) in the study of Chinese children.

Personality and Health-Related Quality of Life of Older Chinese Adults: Cross-Sectional Study and Moderated Mediation Model Analysis

Personality and Health-Related Quality of Life of Older Chinese Adults: Cross-Sectional Study and Moderated Mediation Model Analysis

Bivariate correlation analysis was conducted to identify the association among the 5 personality traits, sleep quality, HRQo L (EQ-5 D-5 L index and VAS scores), and place of residence by using Pearson correlation coefficients. Pathway analysis was used to examine the mediating effect of sleep quality on the association between personality traits and HRQo L.

Health Care Resource Use and Total Mortality After Hospital Admission for Severe COVID-19 Infections During the Initial Pandemic Wave in France: Descriptive Study

Health Care Resource Use and Total Mortality After Hospital Admission for Severe COVID-19 Infections During the Initial Pandemic Wave in France: Descriptive Study

There was a major change in the percentage of patients with any laboratory analysis (PP ratio=1.52). There were major changes in the percentage of patients undergoing troponin dosage (PP ratio=2.02), C-reactive protein dosage (PP ratio=1.53), and full blood count assessment (PP ratio=1.32), while 18,648 patients (27% of the population) had a SARS-Co V-2 polymerase chain reaction test result in the post–COVID-19 period.
