Digitally Delivered, Group-Based Exercise Interventions for Older Adults: Scoping Review

Digitally Delivered, Group-Based Exercise Interventions for Older Adults: Scoping Review

Interventions were eligible only if they were digitally delivered (eg, via Zoom or another similar platform), provided instruction in real time to a group of more than 3 individuals, and lasted a minimum of 6 weeks. We did not require assessments to be digital; therefore, many interventions that included physical measurement conducted these assessments in person.

Exploring the Utility of Virtual Clinics for Neurosurgical Patient Consults: Cohort Study to Assess Feasibility

Verbal consent was obtained prior to scheduling a virtual visit via Zoom, and all participants received a signed copy of the consent form via email. Virtual Zoom calls were scheduled no more than 2 weeks prior to the patients’ in-person clinic visit. To maintain anonymity, each patient was assigned a random code once the data were collected.

Similarly, the lack of significant changes in aerobic capacity was expected based on the program’s goals and the unique challenges of aerobic activities conducted via a Zoom format (Zoom Video Communications). Additionally, these findings also contextualize participant gains by providing deeper phenotypical measurements related to posture, more sophisticated measures of strength, and balance. For example, there were positive changes recorded in measures of thoracic kyphosis and OWD across both risk groups.

Once a meeting is set, the details of the Zoom (Zoom Video Communications) link for the meeting are emailed to the participants. A reminder email was also sent to participants on the day of the meeting, which contained the parent information sheet and the consent form. The baseline meeting typically only took 5 minutes. In the meeting, the researcher asked the parents to confirm their eligibility through a series of questions following a script.

Mobility-Focused Physical Outcome Measures Over Telecommunication Technology (Zoom): Intra and Interrater Reliability Trial

One researcher was present in the room with the participant, while a second researcher provided the assessment instructions and recorded measurements via a standard Zoom meeting, in another room. The participant’s laptop (brand Dell; latitude 7480, with a 35-cm screen) was set up and connected to the remote evaluator, via a call through Zoom. All assessments were completed in view of the laptop’s camera.
