The most common treatment that helps many patients resume an active lifestyle is transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), a less invasive procedure than open-heart surgery that replaces the diseased or damaged aortic valve [5]. Unfortunately, about 25% to 35% of patients either die or achieve no functional, morbidity, or mortality benefit from TAVR [6,7].
