Sociodemographic Profile, Health Conditions, and Burden of Informal Caregivers of Older Adults in Brazil During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Cross-Sectional, Exploratory, Noninterventional, Descriptive Study

Data collection was performed during the preoperative or postoperative period (up to 24 hours after surgery or up to 7 days after a surgery) in the surgical unit of Hospital Universitario João de Barros Barreto, with informal caregivers who accompanied older adults in clinically stable conditions, that is, without surgical complications, undergoing any surgical procedure under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team made up of doctors, nurses, dentists, psychologists, and social workers.

Demographic, Clinical, and Quality of Life Profiles of Older People With Diabetes During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Cross-Sectional Study

The study was conducted at a medium and high complexity hospital, the Hospital Universitário João de Barros Barreto, in the western Brazilian Amazon (city of Belem, Pará, Brazil) from September 2020 to February 2022. We considered Decree no. 10.308, of March 20, 2020, which provides for the request for goods and services provided by public sector companies linked to the Ministry of Infrastructure during the period of the state of public calamity due to the pandemic [11].
