Upper-Limb Motion Recognition Based on Hybrid Feature Selection: Algorithm Development and Validation

Chen and Chen [34] introduced a wrapper method to eliminate irrelevant features during classifier construction by introducing the cosine distance into SVM. The feature selection method has been applied to fault diagnosis of rolling element bearings and diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment. The results showed that the proposed method has great capacity for feature selection and pattern recognition. Filter methods are often time-efficient, but the results are not always satisfactory.
