Third, TPB is explicitly open to the inclusion of more variables [40] and therefore forms a good starting point for developing a new model of AAL acceptance. Intention is a central construct in TPB and viewed as an immediate determinant of actual behavior. Intention is defined as an “indication of a person’s readiness to perform a given behavior.” According to TPB, intention is determined by 3 variables: attitude toward the behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control.
