Evaluating Characteristics and Quality of Mental Health Apps Available in App Stores for Indian Users: Systematic App Search and Review

The review was conducted by 4 primary reviewers (AF, P Sharma, AK, and P Sengupta), with support from expert mentors (SM and RT). Duplicate apps were removed from the Excel sheet. The 4 primary reviewers independently screened the apps for eligibility by examining app store descriptions. If an app was available on both Google Play and Apple App Store for Android and i OS, respectively, only the Google Play version was reviewed, and the app was counted once.

To evaluate the calibration of our models, calibration plots were generated (applying Platt scaling if needed), and the number of patients with high-confidence positive predictions (>0.9) and high-confidence negative predictions ( All preprocessing steps and analyses are available on Git Hub upon publication from Sharma forked to our laboratory’s page, and data can be requested by addressing the PAWEL consortium as indicated in the data availability section.
