The relationship between exercise frequency and changes in pain intensity was demonstrated in a large-scale study by Marshall et al [37]. Interestingly, the frequency of exercise was very similar between participants with significant improvement and those with deterioration. This fact may be due to the inclusion of different types of exercise, making it difficult to assess the effect of specific types of exercise.
